On Sunday, the Kenyon women’s golf team hit the road and headed to Meadville, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, the Owls’ third-ever tournament, where they brought home third place. Meanwhile, the men’s golf team headed to Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, to compete in the NCAA Fall Preview and earned ninth place. 

Women: The women’s team had a breakout performance over the weekend, led by Sasha Belova ’29, who finished on the podium. Belova carded two birdies in the first round to shoot just 2-over par, and three in the second round for an impressive 1-under par and first place overall finish. Belova was followed by Jane Fanning ’29, who shot 8- and 7-over par in the first and second rounds, respectively, to take eighth place. Camryn Nelson ’29, Macy Printy ’29 and Madeline Meimaridis ’28 rounded out the competition for the Owls, taking 25th, 30th and 41st, respectively. The team’s collective performance was enough to bring home the bronze. 

Men: The men’s team spent three days in the Sunshine State to compete in the NCAA Fall Preview. Per usual, Jonathan Oakes ’27 led the way, shooting 4-under-par in the first round, with six birdies and an eagle. While the first round was Oakes’ best performance of the tournament, he shot 3-over par and par in the second and third rounds, respectively, good enough to earn 11th place. The next highest finisher was Adrian Jordan ’28, who took 41st. Jordan shot 2-under-par on the first round, amassing six birdies. He went on to shoot 7-over in the second round and 1-over par in the third. Connor Gray ’28, Jaiden Koonar ’27 and Andrew Hahn ’29, took home 44th, 67th and 86th place, respectively. 

Both teams will be back in action on Oct. 6, with the men competing in the Wabash Invitational and the women in the Tartan Invitational.
