Men’s soccer managed to fend off Otterbein University after a shaky start on their home turf yesterday evening.
The Lords found themselves down one in the first half after an Otterbein corner in the 20th minute despite dominating Otterbein in shots, possession and corners. The ball took a deflection off of a Kenyon player and dropped at the 18-yard box. Otterbein took advantage of the bounce and volleyed the ball into the goal, off the post, scoring their only goal of the game.
The second half was a different story for the Lords as they overshadowed Otterbein. Tony Amolo ’17 tallied two more goals in the 62nd and 64th minutes of the second half, giving the Lords a 2-1 lead. Aaron Salm ’17 added an insurance goal late in the game to solidify Kenyon’s win.
With this win the Lords move to 2-0-0 on the season.
