A late goal in the second period of overtime against Hanover College (2-0) handed Ladies soccer (0-2) a 2-1 defeat yesterday afternoon, the team’s second-straight loss. The Ladies tallied first courtesy of a Maggie Smith strike in the 10th minute but were not able to keep sustained pressure on the Panthers. A Hanover goal in the 30th minute pulled the Panthers level, and the teams went into halftime almost even on the stat sheet. In the second half Kenyon goalkeeper Alissa Poolpol ’16 was forced into a couple of acrobatic saves, including a save on a Hanover penalty. After 105 minutes holding the Panthers at bay, the Ladies let in the game-winning goal. Hanover bested the Ladies in shot count, 19-10. The Ladies next play the University of Mount Union today at Mavec Field at 1 p.m.
