The soccer gods don’t always reward the team that should win. The Ladies (0-3-0) fell 1-0 to the University of Mount Union Raiders (1-2-0) during a scorching-hot afternoon today in Gambier. The loss was the Ladies’ second in a two-day span. The Raiders dominated the early stages of the game, pressing forward in marauding numbers. After withstanding initial pressure, the Ladies corralled the game, only to succumb to a Raiders counter-attack not long before half-time. The Ladies accumulated 29 total shots, outshooting the Raiders by 23 shots for the game and forcing the opposing goalie to make eight saves. Most of those shots, however, did not test the Mount Union keeper. The Ladies seek to rebound Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. when they host John Carroll University (0-1-1).
