Student Council met on Sunday in Chalmers 438 to discuss various upcoming events, a proposed sorority space and the proposed changes to the student government.

• Campus Senate co-Chair Aidan Cullen ’26 announced that the Campus Senate has completed its review of its constitution. The Senate will offer a two-week period for students to comment. The constitution will be sent to President Julie Kornfeld next week for approval.
• Sophomore Class President Amelia Russell ’28 reminded the Council that the Sophomore Class Committee will hold a “Lollipop Lift-Up” event before finals and a movie night on May 1 from 7 to 9:15 p.m. in the Community Foundation Theater.
• First Year Class President Macy Shelton ’29 told the Council that the First Year Class Committee is planning an end of the year picnic.
• Buildings, Grounds and Sustainability Chair Delaney Sefchick ’28 reported that the Buildings, Grounds and Sustainability Committee is collaborating with the Kenyon Farm to plan a screening of “Wasted! The Story of Food Waste.” 
• Student Council President Christiane Betfarhad ’26 announced the winners of the Student Council elections.
• Dean of Students Brian Janssen announced the return of the original Late Night Bites by the Office of Student Engagement on May 3 from 8:30-10 p.m.
• The Council met with Vice President for Student Affairs Celestino Limas to discuss the possibility of a dedicated space for sororities, akin to fraternity lodges. The prospect generated several comments about the interpretation of Title IX, and its implications for the College as a whole. The Council elected to table the discussion and look for input from student organizations.
• The Council then reviewed the proposed changes to the Campus Senate Constitution. After two questions, the Council unanimously approved the changes.

The Council will next meet Sunday in Chalmers 438 at 7 p.m. All students are welcome to attend either in person or remotely.
